New Artists Fair
Artist Statement
In October 2024 I exhibited at the New Artists Fair, an event dedicated to showcasing emerging talent in a welcoming and accessible environment. For this fair I chose not to work within a strict theme, instead bringing a diverse selection of my photographic work. This approach allowed me to present a broader sense of my practice, from richly coloured landscapes to more abstract and impressionistic pieces, and from moments shaped by light and weather to urban scenes alive with movement.
The variety on my stand invited visitors to engage with my work in different ways. Some were drawn to the stillness and atmosphere of my sunset pieces, others to the layered textures of my city imagery, and many enjoyed discovering the contrasts between them. Without the constraints of a single theme, the stand became a visual conversation between styles, subjects, and moods, offering an overview of the range of my creative expression.
The New Artists Fair provided the opportunity to meet collectors, art lovers, and fellow artists face-to-face. These conversations deepened my understanding of how different audiences respond to my work and reinforced my belief in the value of presenting art in a setting where dialogue is encouraged. The experience was both energising and insightful, setting the stage for the more curated approaches I would take in future exhibitions.
